FELLOWSHIPS FOR THE YEAR: 2009-2010

 

1) Shireen Gazdar Fellowship:

 

Two numbers are available for a term of 1year each. The amount payable will be Rs.10,000/- per month. The eligible candidates are those with post graduate qualification in surgical specialties related to head and neck surgery and interested in pursuing head and neck oncology as their career. Selected candidates will be allowed to take up their post in reputed centers on mutual consent. For applying, send the detailed CV highlighting the past experience in head and neck surgery as well as future career plans to the Secretary FHNO by e-mail : drjpdabholkar@gmail.com.

Selected candidates will have to take the full membership of the FHNO.

 

2) FHNO Travel Fellowship:

           

Three fellowships of Rs.10,000/-each are available for trainees in any discipline related to head and neck surgery / oncology for a months travel and training in reputed centers of their choice in India. Applications are to be send by e-mail to the Secretary FHNO.

 

For both the above fellowships the cut-off date for application is 1st September 2010.

The candidates will be selected in an interview on 13th October 2010 at ITC Gardenia, Banglore during the meeting.

 


 ANNOUNCEMENT RELATED TO SUBMISSION OF PAPER/POSTER TO NATIONAL MEETING

Free Paper Presentation at the national meeting:

 

From this year, only selected papers will be allowed to be presented at the podium and these will be eligible for the FHNO Gold Medal. Abstracts in detail with objectives, methodology, results and conclusion (selection is based on these) to be sent to the Secretary. For details please log on to the site www.fhno.org or www.ihncc.in. The abstracts are to be sent by e-mail alone to the Secretary by the 15th August 2010.Selected candidates will be informed by the 15th September 2010.

 

Poster Presentation:

                          

There will be only one poster presentation session where any number of posters can be presented. There will be a designated time for poster rounds and the five best posters will be selected. These posters will be presented as podium presentations of 5 minutes each, the same afternoon. Out of these the best will be given the FHNO Gold Medal and the second and third, certificates of merit. All poster presenters are requested to bring a short PowerPoint presentation also for this purpose. Those who are selected and wished to be excused from the podium presentation will be allowed to do so and their position will be given to the next selected. Please send the abstract of the poster by e-mail to the Secretary by 15thAugust 2010.All presenters have to be registered for the meeting, details of which are available in this newsletter or on the website www.fhno.org or www.ihncc.in
